MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
Dear Visitor/Client/Model,
For the best part of the past decade, we've grown Perfect Look into a force to be reckoned with in the beauty and modelling industry. We've grown to become the largest modelling company in South Africa in many ways: Over 600 models listed, about 200,000 hits per month on our web site, involvement with over 50 beauty pageants per year, hundreds of happy advertisers, with work, achievements and accolades streaming in for our models.
Then came the worldwide recession of the past couple of years, and I've had serious challenges across all my companies - we've lost millions across the board. I had to do "disaster management", and unfortunately we neglected Perfect Look (which was my smallest company) in a big way. We lost most of our personnel, we couldn't keep up with all the work and admin, our mailboxes ran full, and the web site was not updated. To make things worse, we changed offices and telephone service providers and had massive challenges with our infrastructure not working the way it should, making it extremely difficult for our models and clients to keep in contact with us - so much so that we've effectively shut down for a while.
We apologize sincerely, deeply and profusely for all of that!
The good news is that things are getting back on track - I've given Perfect Look to my fiancée (Chaney) to own and manage, and she has very exciting plans for the future. I will still be involved in many ways, especially in guiding and assisting her to get everything going again, but ultimately I will focus on my other business interests and Chaney will focus on "putting Perfect Look back on the map".
For the near future, I will also still fulfil the roles of the editor of the web site, training manager, photographer, and fashion stylist. These are my passions and I love doing it in my "spare time".
Watch this space over the coming months: Many new and exciting things coming: Amongst others, we are going to fill a long-standing need in the industry by putting a lot more focus on training and preparing our models to become successful. We'll also become deeply involved with the beauty pageant scene in SA, with a variety of very exciting services that will change beauty pageants forever. We are also going to grow the number and variety of all services on offer to truly become the “Yellow Pages” of our industry.
